Cybersource Corp., a developer and provider of electronic commerce services, has added electronic check capabilities to its software. The service lets on-line businesses and billers accept payments by electronic checks, in addition to credit, debit, and purchasing cards.
Cybersource also has acquired ExpressGold to add gift certificates and other promotional services to its portfolio.
"As e-commerce continues to grow and the Internet becomes a mainstream way to purchase, consumers and businesses expect their on-line payment experience to be similar to that in the physical world -- they want a choice of payment options," said Tracy Wilk, vice president of product management for Cybersource.
