WA:WA Labor reshuffle expected

PERTH, Feb 10 AAP - West Australian Opposition Leader Eric Ripper is expected to announce
he has demoted corrective services spokesman Paul Papalia and given failed leadership
contender Ben Wyatt the education portfolio.

In a shadow cabinet reshuffle, Michelle Roberts, a senior minister in the Gallop government
and former ALP state president, is to be appointed shadow treasurer, ABC Radio and The
West Australian reported on Thursday.

A spokeswoman for Mr Ripper said the changes would be confirmed when a Labor Party
caucus meeting finished at about 11am (WST).

After My Wyatt withdrew from a bungled challenge to Mr Ripper's leadership last month,
he was sacked as shadow treasurer but Mr Ripper indicated at the time he wanted to retain
the 36-year-old on his front bench.
