Kenya may turn over election violence probe to ICC

Kenya said Friday it would ask the International Criminal Court to investigate the violence that erupted after its disputed 2007 elections if the country's Parliament cannot agree on prosecuting people suspected of crimes against humanity.

A high-level Kenyan delegation also agreed to immediately turn over details of its investigation to prosecutors in The Hague to allow them to begin "preliminary examinations," the court said in a statement.
