NSW: Post mortem examination of body found in car

A post mortem examination will be held today to establish the cause of death and identity
of a man whose body was found in a car in Sydney's southwest.

The body was found with extensive head injuries in a sedan at a carpark next to a playground
at Wiley Park, off King Georges Road, yesterday about 3pm (AEDT).

Police at the scene couldn't confirm reports that the man may have been dead for up to two days.

The suspicious death is being investigated by local police from Campsie and Lakemba
local area commands.

The car, parked near the Wiley Park Bicentennial Amphitheatre, was covered with tarpaulins
as police scoured surrounding parklands and playground equipment.
